Winchester School Committee ratified a contract with the teachers union's Unit E. The committee voted unanimously Monday, May 18, to approve the memorandum of agreement with the Winchester Educators Association, with the chair crediting committee member Bolognese for leading negotiations on the panel's side. "We are through four contracts," the chair said, with one bargaining unit still unresolved.
Members also approved a consent agenda adding professional development and early-release days to the 2026-27 school calendar, which runs from September 2, 2026, to June 17 or 21, 2027, depending on snow days. The committee also voted 5-0 to enter executive session earlier in the meeting to discuss negotiating strategy.
