Winchester Zoning Board extends 40B hearing deadline to February 27 for 60-unit Washington Street project. The board reviewed revised architectural renderings from B3 Architecture's Michelle Olenfield and landscape plans from High Point Engineering's Michael Ragnar, addressing comments from design peer reviewer Dennis Carlone, who told members "every citizen of Winchester is going to be looking at this building three times a day." Housing Partnership Board Chair John Servier reported three of 16 affordable units would be set at 60 percent of area median income and recommended local preference for up to 70 percent of those units. Roughly 87 parking spaces are planned for the project's 60 rental units, with 3,850 square feet of ground-floor commercial space.
Multiple Chester Street residents pressed the board on cut-through traffic and overnight parking, prompting one resident, Robert Baldwin, to tell the board "sometimes the answer is no." The hearing was continued to January 28.
