WINCHESTER — The Winchester Planning Board continued a contested hearing on a 13-unit mixed-use project at 972 Main Street to August 4 over unresolved parking-garage safety concerns. Member John Cortizas recused himself, leaving a four-person board to review a turning-radius study delivered only hours before the meeting. A town engineering reviewer identified as Matt compared the project's roughly 17-foot garage aisle unfavorably to the town's Jenks Lot, which has wider 22-foot aisles.
Applicant representative Sid said "every time we come, we have satisfied you guys," while architect Tim Johnson said the building's elevator "is fixed" and cannot be relocated. The board also continued a bylaw rewrite hearing to July 21 and unanimously endorsed an ANR lot-line adjustment for 26 and 30 Swan Road.
