Select Board Raises Parking, Transfer Fees
Winchester Select Board raised parking and transfer station fees for the first time in roughly a decade.
Select Board · Meeting of May 18, 2026
Winchester Select Board raised parking and transfer station fees for the first time in roughly a decade. The board, chaired by Anthea Brady, voted unanimously to lift the town center employee and resident parking permit from $10 to $50 a year, raise the Winchester resident commuter permit to $150 a quarter while keeping the annual rate at $500, and push the Wedgemere pay-station daily cap from $5 to $6. Member Paras Bhayani called the town's old pricing model "not a good way to price parking," saying "we are a massive outlier." Separately, the board adopted a Department of Public Works plan raising commercial transfer station tipping fees, projected to bring in about $83,000 starting July 1.
The board also voted to promote Board of Appeals alternate Harout Ghazarian to a full seat and endorsed a $500,000 Davidson Park stream restoration grant application.
