WINCHESTER — The Winchester Select Board voted unanimously to appoint Town Assessor Dan McGurl to the Retiree Health Insurance Advisory Committee and approved an Eversource Energy grant of location for Cross Street. Chair Anthea Brady led the July 27 session with Vice Chair William McGonigle and members Michael Bettencourt and Michelle Prior, all voting 4-0 on every item. The board accepted $13,720 in EEC childcare grant funding, a $600 Action Games Paintball donation, $7,485.50 from the Winchester Seniors Association's Annual Symposium, and nine MassDOT speed signs.
WinCam Board member Lauren Hermann announced the station is relocating from Swanton Street to the Parkhurst building this September amid a "steep decline" in cable franchise fee revenue. Town Manager Christopher Senior said a stalled state supplemental budget could still bring Winchester more than $450,000 in added school aid. McGurl's term on the retiree panel runs through October 31, 2028.
