WINCHESTER — Zoning Board extends February 27 deadline on Swanton Street 40B permit. The board met January 14 to review revised design plans for a 64-unit mixed-use development with ground-floor commercial space at 278 and 292 Washington Street and 12, 16-20 Swanton Street from applicant Melanson Development Group. Design updates addressed prior board feedback with simplified courtyard design, enhanced facades, additional street trees, and revised stormwater management features.
The public hearing was extended to January 28, 2026 at 7 PM in the Waterfield Room, with traffic and stormwater discussion tentatively scheduled for February 11 and final deliberation before February 25. Residents expressed concerns about parking adequacy and traffic impacts on nearby streets during public comment.
