DISABILITY ACCESS COMMISSION - TOWN CLERK'S OFFICE · Meeting of September 17, 2026

WINCHESTER — Disability Access Commission backs amphitheater gift, sidewalk bylaw. The Winchester DAC unanimously approved a 36-inch snow and ice sidewalk clearing bylaw after commission member Deborah Johnson contacted the police chief on increased violation penalties. Members also voted in favor of a $200,000 stone amphitheater gift from the Rotary Club of Winchester, designed as an accessible outdoor venue for the library with seating for 49 people plus two ADA-accessible wheelchair spaces.

The amphitheater footprint stays under 500 square feet of impervious surface to avoid triggering flood mitigation review. The commission also noted ongoing ADA non-compliance at Lynch School, including improperly sloped rear exits requiring correction by contractors.
