Trust Approves 33 Mt. Vernon Street Affordable Housing Amendment
AFFORDABLE HOUSING TRUST COMMITTEE · Meeting of May 21, 2026
WINCHESTER — Trust approves affordable housing deal at 33 Mount Vernon Street. The Affordable Housing Trust voted 4 to 3 to adopt an amended memorandum of understanding with developer Urban Spaces, committing the developer to provide three deed-restricted affordable units at 80 percent of area median income in exchange for the trust's dismissal of ongoing litigation. Chair Marty Jones reported Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities staff confirmed the units could qualify for Subsidized Housing Inventory as Local Action Units.
Voting in favor were Jones, Marc Moura, Queenan, and Stacey Irizarry; voting against were Steve Cagnetta, Chris Senior, and Bill McGonigle. The close vote reflects dissenters' concerns about the pace of deliberation and cost per square foot.
