Winchester's Permanent Street Tree Committee unanimously approved a three-year strategic plan and advanced a $60,000 Community Preservation Act application for planting up to 100 trees, with emphasis on historical value and canopy maintenance. Committee Chair Austin Whitman reported that the initial submission is due June 15 and requires deeper focus on budget and scope. Julia Osborne, Philip Tegmark, and Susan Fagerstrom volunteered to help refine planning and cost estimates; Josh Bers agreed to contact the Winchester Community Connections Plan chair.
The committee may meet June 12 instead of June 19 (Juneteenth) to approve the final application before deadline.
