WINCHESTER — Tree Committee approves $60K Community Preservation Act application for 2027 plantings. The Permanent Street Tree Committee unanimously backed a $60,000 initial CPA application to plant trees in town open spaces, recreation areas, and historic properties, with site-selection details due by June 15. Chair Austin Whitman led the discussion; Julia Osborne, Brian Vernaglia, and Tracy Olson supported the approach.
The committee also unanimously approved sending a letter to the Planning Board endorsing proposed zoning bylaw language on tree retention standards for Special Permits and Site Plan Review.
