Winchester Select Board extends retiree retirement deadline to June 2027. Town Manager Christopher Senior had recommended the extension to address operational impacts on departments and staff confusion caused by the original August 1, 2026 deadline, with the board voting 4-0-1 in favor of pushing the deadline to June 30, 2027 while maintaining January 1, 2027 as the effective date for new benefits. The revised policy calls for 50/50 support of overall premiums and a $200 Part B contribution.
In related action, the board voted 4-1 to direct the Town Manager and Superintendent to provide a report on operational impacts of potential retirements.
