SCHOOL COUNCILS - TOWN CLERK'S OFFICE · Meeting of March 12, 2026
WINCHESTER — The Vinson-Owen Elementary School Council approved advancement of a district-level working group to develop technology use guidelines under Principal Kathleen Caron's coordination with Winchester central office. The council reviewed student achievement data including MCAS results spanning 2021-2025, DIBELS assessments, and social-emotional well-being metrics. Council member Alexis Darcy raised concerns about outside tutoring's impact on scores, though Caron explained she cannot survey families about outside educational activities.
The working group will include teachers, parents, and potentially upper-level students, with information to be brought back to individual schools.
