Planning Board clears Mt. Vernon Street development path

WINCHESTER — Affordable Housing Trust advances 33 Mt. Vernon project after Planning Board approval. The Planning Board voted June 9 that the unit-mix change is non-substantial, allowing Town Planner Taylor to grant administrative approval without a public hearing, clearing the path for Urban Spaces to finalize marketing and the trust to complete the affordable-units agreement.
The trust voted 6-1 to approve a $350 out-of-pocket expense invoice, with Select Board member William McGonigle voting against, but tabled its decision on legal counsel engagement from Gilman McLaughlin due to cost concerns running $6,000-$8,000 for contract negotiation alone. The trust is concurrently advancing 160 Forest Street, where a hazmat inspection found no asbestos, with lead in paint as expected.
