PLANNING BOARD - TOWN CLERK'S OFFICE · Meeting of May 12, 2026

Winchester Planning Board approves Washington Street two-family project exceeding zoning limits. The board voted unanimously to recommend favorable action on a Zoning Board of Appeals petition for 540-542 Washington Street, with the 6,416-square-foot, two-unit building exceeding the allowed floor-area limit by nearly double. Separately, the board voted 4-1 to deny a parking waiver for a mixed-use building at 910 Main Street, which would provide only 14 on-site parking spaces against a requirement for 16.

The board also voted unanimously to reopen review of a 972 Main Street development approved in October 2025, citing concerns that proposed design modifications, including removal of balconies and window wells, constitute substantial rather than minor changes.
