WINCHESTER — Muraco Elementary School Council elects new co-chair. The five-member council unanimously elected Seamus Brady to the co-chair position on a nomination from parent Alyssa Loring Tirella during its February 4 meeting at the school's main office. Principal Leslie West presented the 2025-26 School Improvement Plan, emphasizing implementation of authentic and wide-ranging assessments including K-3 DIBELS, K-5 Math Screener, and MCAS examinations.

The council identified the need for more robust math assessments and planned to use the DART tool to inform decisions. The council scheduled future discussion with the Education Facilities Planning Building Committee about building options before information becomes public.
