McCall School Council discusses teaching expectations research

WINCHESTER — McCall Middle School School Council met March 16 to discuss a research article on how teachers communicate high expectations to secondary students. Principal James Lin opened the meeting and presented an update on the school's master schedule and Flex Block work before leading a discussion of Johnston et al.'s 2024 peer-reviewed article examining grounded theory in teacher communication. Council members included faculty Matthew Chernick and Deanna Busconi, parent representative Meegan LeMott, and community member Lauren Valdario.
