Housing Partnership Board amends affordable housing agreement at 33 Mt. Vernon Street
HOUSING PARTNERSHIP BOARD - TOWN CLERK'S OFFICE · Meeting of May 27, 2026
WINCHESTER — Housing Partnership Board approves amended affordable housing accord. The board voted 7-2, with 2 abstentions, to amend the Memorandum of Understanding with developer Urban Spaces and the Affordable Housing Trust for three deed-restricted units at 80 percent of area median income in a 34-unit mixed-use development at 33 Mt. Vernon Street.
Chair John Suhrbier noted that the amendment removes a Planning Board approval contingency while preserving the $2 million payment in lieu, with $1,685,000 earmarked for deed-restricted purchases. Two members voted against the amendment, citing concern about damage to collaborative relationships with the Planning Board and Select Board over the past three months.
