Historical Commission suspends demolition delay for Richardson Street

Winchester Historical Commission suspended a demolition delay for the property at 62 Richardson Street.

HISTORICAL COMMISSION - TOWN CLERK'S OFFICE · Meeting of July 7, 2026

Winchester Historical Commission suspended a demolition delay for the property at 62 Richardson Street. The Commission, chaired by Bruce Hickey, found the 1870 home historically significant by unanimous vote and voted 4 to 1 to impose a demolition delay before immediately voting unanimously to suspend it. The approved project preserves the existing structure while replacing vinyl siding with wood shingles, with approximately 3,400 square feet per unit and only one tree to be removed.

In other business, the Commission deferred a Special Permit application for 10-16 Mt. Vernon Street, requesting additional architectural materials.
