WINCHESTER — The Energy Management Committee unanimously authorized a charging fee for the town's electric vehicle chargers. Sustainability Director Ken Pruitt will charge users 35 cents per kilowatt-hour on the 12 Level 2 chargers at Laraway Road, the High School, and Lynch School, with an idling fee also authorized. The committee required Pruitt to return in six months with usage data and rate-adjustment authority.
Three school buildings are enrolled in Eversource comprehensive energy assessments; Lynch School's solar installation is nearing completion but electric bills ran roughly ten times higher than projected in the first two months.
