WINCHESTER — Conservation Commission approves aeration system for impaired Wedge Pond. Chair Tracy Olson and members unanimously accepted the Notice of Intent for a submerged diffuser system designed to combat state-listed impairments in phosphorus, bacteria, and dissolved oxygen; the project will cost over $10,000 in Community Preservation Act funds and will require public bid and monthly dissolved oxygen monitoring. The Commission also reviewed a $7,000 two-year aquatic treatment proposal for Winter Pond using private funds from Friends of Winter Pond, approved a Scout Gold Award trail-signage project at Locke Farm, and scheduled April 10 volunteer work at the Jenks and May 2 Aberjona River cleanup with assigned member stations.
