WINCHESTER — Board of Health opposes pending state health legislation. The Winchester Board of Health voted unanimously April 22 to oppose Massachusetts House Bill 5271 and Senate Bill 2999, which the board said would undermine local board authority, directing Chair Anne Marie Hill to coordinate drafting of an opposition letter to State Representatives Day and Lewis and to Senator Jehlen. The board unanimously approved favorable recommendations on two town meeting articles: Article 4, establishing a Volunteer Human's Rights Commission, and Article 23, authorizing Town Hall renovation funding.

Health Director Jennifer Murphy received unanimous approval for her annual review and a 5 percent salary increase. The board also unanimously approved fee schedule changes for temporary and fixed dumpsters effective July 1, 2026.
