Board of Health adopts kratom regulation, reorganizes leadership

Winchester Board of Health elects Anne Marie Hill chair, adopts kratom regulation. The Board voted unanimously to elect Hill as Chair and Dr. Shannon Scott-Vernaglia as Vice Chair in its annual reorganization meeting on March 23.
In substantive business, the Board unanimously approved a new Kratom Regulation, effective June 1, 2026, which addresses the sale and distribution of kratom products in Winchester. Health Director Jennifer Murphy provided updates on enforcement matters, including issues at Gloria's Restaurant and a recent grease trap overflow that may prompt future regulatory changes.
