Board of Appeals approves comprehensive permit for mixed-use development on Washington and Swanton Streets.

WINCHESTER — Board of Appeals approves mixed-use comprehensive permit subject to refinement. The board voted 3-0 on March 19 to approve a Chapter 40B comprehensive permit for Melanson Development's proposed 64-unit residential and 3,850-square-foot commercial project at 278 and 292 Washington Street and 12 and 16-20 Swanton Street in the GBD Zoning District. Town Counsel Karis North is revising 130 permit conditions for final approval at an April 16 special meeting.

The public hearing, which began May 21, 2025, must close by March 31, 2026, and the board has scheduled the decision vote for April 16.
